Priority #1 is always to maximize the portfolio returns based on client stated risks & objectives. However, beyond rates of return are many other important factors & decisions which can improve a client's odds of growing and maintaining wealth over time. My responsibility is to clearly understand each investor's detailed goals so that I can provide ongoing education and advice about opportunities available to achieve those goals. Tax laws and IRS guidelines continue to evolve over time; these types of changes can impact beneficiary designations, portfolio holdings, charitable giving strategies, RMDs, Roth conversions, and more.
